The founder and principal of Mango Punch!, Walter Suhr, is responsible for the band’s sound. As bandleader he carefully selects singers and musicians with great skills and professionalism who can maintain high standards of sound quality and execution. Although very infrequently band members change, Walter Suhr makes sure that the quality of the music is always the same.
+ Does the band carry liability insurance?
The group maintains liability insurance of $ 1,000,000.00 (one million dollars ) in damages to third parties.
+ What is the band’s alcohol policy?
Our internal policy (which applies to all band members and band personnel) does not allow drinking ANY alcoholic beverages before or during our presentation or equipment setup and teardown.
+ How many musicians will perform?
Most frequently the group is configured of 6 members. However, Mango Punch! has the flexibility to expand from a group of 4 to more than 10 members depending on the preference and budget of our clients.
+ How is the set list determined?
The group leader takes as a starting point the list of songs you’ve chosen from our site. But in each presentation the repertoire will be shaped in a unique and intuitive way to keep the party lively and most of the guests on the dance floor.
+ What do the musicians wear?
Most of our events require the group to wear either black formal suit-and-tie or tuxedo. Our female performers wear black evening attire or discreet “cocktail ” dresses. On special holidays and/or presentations outdoor clothing can be festive and colorful.
+ Who manages Mango Punch!?
Mango Punch! was established in 1991 and since its inception has been musically directed by Walter Suhr and managed by Susana Trimmer.
+ Does Mango Punch! own its lighting and sound equipment?
Yes. The group has its own lighting and sound equipment that can accommodate functions from 100 guests or less, to large events of more than 1000 guests. Our staff includes sound engineers and lighting technicians who have extensive experience in adjusting the sound and lighting accordingly.
+ How far in advance should hire Mango Punch!?
Often we assume commitments a year or more in advance. Therefore, we suggest you secure your date at the earliest time possible. The date is secured by signing the contract with a 50 % deposit. Checks, cash , credit cards and bank transfers are accepted.
+ Do you travel to other cities to make presentations?
Absolutely. Although Mango Punch! is based in Houston, Texas we can travel to any national party and internationally for presentations. Depending on the distance, we can bring our own equipment by land or rent sound equipment in the city of presentation.
+ Do you accept musical requests?
Yes. However, we reserve the right to determine whether we can interpret the songs authentically and making justice to the original version.
+ Do they take music during breaks?
In a presentation of 4 hours, three breaks of 15 minutes are standard. During these breaks, DiscJockey and/or Master of Ceremonies services are provided. We have a large collection of recorded music that complements and enhances the styles and music that the group performs.
+ What are your requirements for electricity?
We require three separate 20-amp circuits to function optimally.
+ What size setting is required?
Although our ideal stage size is 12 feet x 24 feet we can perform in a stage of 8 feet x 20 feet.
